I came across this on Wednesday reading ahead the responsorial psalm (canticle<\/a>?)<\/em> as part of the daily readings for Thursday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time (November 27, Thanksgiving Day)<\/a>. In the reading form, the words for Dn 3:70 were translated slightly differently: \u201cIce and snow, bless the Lord\u201d\u2014\u201cice\u201d instead of \u201choarfrost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is from the Prayer of Azariah and Song of the Three Holy Youths: Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael (Dn 3:88), \u201cthese three in the furnace with one voice sang, glorifying and blessing God\u201d (Dn 3:51) in thanksgiving after the angel of the Lord protected them from harm (Dn 3:49-50).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
