Elsewhere, the bigger sides prevailed over the smaller: After a scoreless first half, dream team Cal FC was deluged with goals by the defending champions Seattle Sounders, bringing their inspiring run to an end. The Minnesota Stars fell on a late goal to the San Jose Earthquakes, and the Dayton Dutch Lions beat PDL side Michigan Bucks (dispatchers of the Fire) in extra time.
