R.I.P. David Wangerin

David Wangerin’s Soccer In a Football World is an essential read. I am very sorry to learn he is no longer with us. Looking around the internet, I see Temple University Press published another book by hime, Distant Corners: American Soccer’s History of Missed Opportunities and Lost Causes, which I now plan to read soon. Also, the When Saturday Comes site has links to his writing for that publication. It seems he had so much more to offer.

I’ve been meaning to get to the Illinois Railway Museum for ages now. This may have been the inspiration I needed to finally get there. In the next couple of weeks?
